You can now easily book any rental car with a driver or on self-drive option depending on your travel budget and personal preferences. The majority of travellers nowadays prefer to self-drive in Uganda over traveling with a driver not only because it’s cheap but also due to the unlimited freedom and flexibility that comes with it.

You will find a majority of Uganda car rental companies online and the best way to determine which agency to book with is by browsing through some of the top results in Google or Yahoo. Compare prices, terms and conditions plus special offers if available.

Prices are competitive for all airport rental locations. Check your preferences as well as discounts, promotion offers and other that you may become a beneficiary. On your search, you will definitely get the list of available car hire from various car rental companies in Uganda and you won’t rent all, but your preference only.

Determine which type of rental car you want to use for the self-drive adventure and go ahead and inquire about rates, and availability from the chosen companies. There are a variety of rental cars ranging from 4×4, SUVs, sedans and minivans available but remember to book one that fits the number of people you are traveling with as well as your budget.

Whether you are traveling as a couple for a city tour we have a wide range of compact saloon cars that will suit to your travel plans. Interestingly, our statistics can be shown for each vehicle and this includes its capacity and transmission. You can simply Google them out.

Don’t go for the first company or price offered, take some time to do some haggling so you can get the lowest possible rate before you jump into conclusions. The reservations team are always very attentive to your personal interests and budget and will base on those two factors to get you an ideal rental at the best possible rate.

If you want long term car rental services, you will enjoy discounted prices. Ask the reservations team to offer a discount so that you will save some money on the trip. And if you are renting the car for a short period, it is most likely that you will simply go for the rate offered.

Once you have decided which type of car to go with and determine the car rental agency you will be booking with, what’s left is to confirm the reservation of your rental car. You will be asked to make a 30 to 50% deposit so the car can be reserved for you but some companies don’t mind you paying the full amount on arrival.

In case you are paying directly via online, then you stand to be part of the many benefits that we have in offer most of which include greater mileage and insurance packages. Our prices are within visitors’ pocket range and you will choose the ideal means of payment that is comfortable with you and recommended by the company.

Based on your tour is all about and group requirements, you will need some extras for your vehicle such as additional driver, baby seats and the extra services which may be of help include insurance cover and mileage packages.

Your contact details must be filled to help us ascertain who the driver is. Other personal details must also be filled for instance your name, home address. If you want to pay online, you will need to fill out your payment details. All the information for car hire will be reflected to help cross check if all is correct.

Once all the steps are in place, you can rest assured that your rental car will be waiting for you once you land in Uganda for your private road trip around the city, suburbs, parks and remote destinations.

Once you have finished with your process, make sure that you get a copy of the invoice through email. After this, you will then just wait for the actual day to pick up your car. In case of cancellation or adjacent, you will have to visit our online portal and login or enter your reservation number plus security code.

The next step is now for you to go and pick up your car at our station and staffs are very welcoming. To help you realize your dream in this beautiful nation, simply contact us or email us and we shall help you find that dream car for your holiday.

4×4 Rooftop Tent Car + Camping Gears

by admin September 28, 2023
written by admin

A rooftop Tent car provides the ultimate ease and convenience when traveling. Unfolding in minutes, a rooftop tent provides sleeping quarters off the ground, protected from the elements.  Spacious and comfortable, all bedding can remain inside the tent during the journey, freeing up vital storage space in the vehicle, and allowing the tent to be quickly and easily packed away.

The rooftop tent consists of the following;

Raised “Climate Cover” Flysheet to control temperature and reduce condensation, Pop Up Window Awning, Fly screen Windows, Premium quality waterproof, breathable rip stop poly-cotton canvas, Lightweight Aluminium and Insulated Floor, Luxury 65mm High Density Foam Mattress, Retractable Aluminium Ladder with Entrance Under, Cover, YKK Zips, Rugged 1000D Waterproof PVC ‘On Car’ Cover and High Lift Extension Kit Available.

The rooftop tents can fit a wide variety of vehicles. But just because a tent will fit on your car, doesn’t mean it’s ideal for every vehicle. Having a tent on top of your roof can create significant wind resistance, subsequently affecting steering capabilities and lowering your fuel economy. You also have to ensure that your roof is equipped to support the added weight of both your tent and those camping inside of it.

Check your vehicle’s owner manual for the roof rack’s load capacity information, and when in doubt, reach out to tent manufacturers to inquire about compatibility.

On top of your vehicle needing to be compatible with your tent kit, your roof rack system needs to check out too.

You’ll at least need crossbars that can take on the weight of your tent. Whether you’re mounting your tent on your vehicle, truck bed, or travel trailer, having the right rack system designed for the right amount of support is crucial to protecting your vehicle, tent, and other surfaces from damage.

During installation, you’ll also want to consider what type of security system you want for your tent. There are also various types of locking bolts, mounts, and keyed systems that might need to be integrated during the initial installation process. Many of these security accessories will depend on the type of tent you have.

Once your tent is fully installed and secured to your roof, practice setting it up before taking off on your maiden voyage. This way, you can see what adjustments will need to be made or what additional gear you’ll need before arriving at the campground.

If your tent isn’t going to be a permanent staple on your vehicle, you’ll need to have a plan for uninstalling and storing your gear during the off-season or in between trips. Unfold and leave it up on the car or remove and store in the garage.

Camping Kitchen

The little things always matter, especially when it comes to food. Our testers have gone to great lengths to bring you the best camping kitchen setup around. We divulge on the best camping cookware, top camping stoves, and yes, even a comparison of camping tables. When you have a good setup, you can cook the best food, in the quickest amount of time, with the least amount of fuss. Be discerning, however, as there is a lot of variety out there and having a good sense of how you intend to use your kit will make all the difference.

Camping Stove/ gas stove

Camping stoves range from your standard double burner to those with legs so it can stand on its own. Not to be confused with a backpacking stove, a camping stove is the kind you use when car camping or you are, at least, nearby the car. Why? They are hefty and not built for backpacking. Time to boil and wind resistance is key to a good camping stove, along with a host of other metrics.

Camping Cookware

Crucial considerations to any future set of the best camping cookware are: what is it made out of and what types of bells and whistles does it have that I don’t know about? Reason being, there are some creative differences in what was traditionally just referred to as just “pots and pans.”

Camping Table

Tired of using your camping stove on the ground? Yep, you sure are. Let’s be honest, camping tables are not an essential item to sleep in the woods, but they sure make life easier when you do, and they are handy for more than just cooking.

Camping Coffee

Never, ever underestimate the importance of a cup of coffee when camping. A good cup of coffee is the glue that holds the day together. We’re happy to say you have a lot of options, from espresso plungers to presses to pour overs.

Camping Chairs

The sheer diversity in shape and construction of today’s camping chairs is bewildering. But don’t be fooled; there are clear stand-outs. The top camping chairs are comfortable, portable, and they last a few seasons.

Soft Coolers

Think portability when you think of soft coolers. These are great, of course, for camping, but also for taking to the park, beach, or a friend’s house. Soft coolers don’t hold as much as a standard cooler, but, again, they make up for it when you are on the move.

Camp Lighting

Lanterns and headlamps have a lot of range. No pun intended. Over the past few decades, batteries have gotten better and lights have gotten brighter, all the more reason to take the time to figure out exactly what kind of campsite lighting you want.

The rooftop tents come fully installed with the sleeping equipment. Camping blankets are as good for sleeping as they are for wrapping around you on those chilly mornings. But make sure you make a good decision before you ditch the sleeping bag, if that’s what you’re thinking, as camping blankets tend not to be as warm as their zippered counterparts.

Whether you plan on driving yourself or in the company of a driver-guide, we guarantee you will get the best feel of the Pearl of Africa on tour on the below-mentioned top 10 Uganda tourist destinations.

Murchison Falls National Park is the world’s strongest waterfall; the Murchison falls. The falls are formed by the continuous attempt by the Nile to force itself through an eight meters wide gorge thus forming a spectacular view whenever the Nile water finds its way through this gorge.

It is often Murchison falls that draws people to Murchison falls national park but besides the spectacularly memorable marvels of these mighty waterfalls lies a diversity of wildlife. It should be noted that Murchison Falls National Park has the best roads among all national parks in Uganda making it the most recommended road-tripping national park in Uganda.

Murchison Falls National Park is gifted with a diversity of wildlife. Whether you are road-tripping solo, or a couple or family, Murchison falls national park will not disappoint. Its size brings something to the table that no Ugandan national park can match. Though most Murchison falls safaris mainly highlight 3 days safaris; a minimum of 7 days is highly recommended for the best Murchison Falls National Park experience.

Source of the Nile; The Nile is a stream of life upon which countries like Sudan, South Sudan, Egypt, and Ethiopia base their survival. The beauty of visiting the source of the Nile is that the trip is not simply about the Nile rather you have a trip featuring both the Nile and Africa’s biggest lake; “Lake Victoria”.

When road tripping in Uganda; Jinja should be among the top destinations on your bucket list. It is one of the places that are not very far from Kampala. Unlike some national parks in Uganda; any type of car can suffice for a road trip to Jinja.

The most hidden gem of Africa is the right description that fits Kidepo valley national park. In the ranks of Serengeti national park, Kruger national park, and Masai Mara of Kenya; Uganda has Kidepo valley national park to offer. For now, it is only the Ugandan side of Kidepo that has been explored but probably in the future, South Sudan’s side of Kidepo will also be a force to reckon with.

It is one of the places you cannot merely visit on a detour. It is a true African wilderness. The temperatures are relatively high, so acclimatization is often recommended to avoid your experience being marred by the temperature.

Many tourists who begin their trips from south-western Uganda often find the northern side too hot. For this reason, we would highly recommend anyone considering a long road trip in Uganda starting from the Kidepo valley side instead of the Bwindi impenetrable forest side.

Bwindi Forest is bisected into four impressive sectors where gorilla trekking is done such as; Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sector.
